Srinagar, Dec 31: Former Jammu And Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said that by bringing the Triple Talaq Bill, the Bharatiya Janta Party is entering our houses.
“This will disturb our family life and also, there’ll be more problems for women and men economically” she told media.
“When we talk about reservations for Muslims, the BJP rejects it on religious lines. But when it comes to this kind of law, then they run to Parliament”, she added.
The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2018, makes the practice of instant divorce a criminal offence, along with 3 year-jail term.
Last week on December 27, the Triple Talaq Bill was passed in Lok Sabha amid intense discussion and opposition.
And Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad is likely to table the Triple Talaq Bill today.
