New Delhi, May 14: This year’s Cannes Film Festival has seen some of the boldest looks yet. From Deepika Padukone’s ruffled Ashi Studio gown to Kangana Ranaut’s figure-hugging Nedrett Taciroglu jumpsuit, the starlets have dressed to impress.


However, every year, there’s one undisputed queen on the red carpet that everyone eagerly wait to watch. And she is none other than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Yes! Aishwarya yet again proved that she is the original Cannes diva. The red carpet veteran (this was her 17th year of attending the international event) left no stone unturned to make a stylish impact this year too. Aishwarya’s looks for Cannes 2017 had indeed set the benchmark high for not just other Indian actresses to make show-stopping style statements at Cannes, but her as well to up her style game.

Remember Aishwarya looking like a real life Cinderella in a ball-gown designed by Michael Cinco or the flamenco-inspired, fiery red Ralph and Russo Dress?

The beauty queen of course passed with flying colours as she impressed all with her stunning range of designer outfits.

On Day 1, we saw the Bollywood diva looking summer ready in an easy breezy, custom-made, Manish Malhotra maxi dress. The sky blue dress was intricately designed with multi-coloured beads and sequins, and Aishwarya teamed her look with Noor Fares jewellery with perfect beach wave hair.



For her first red carpet look, Aishwarya picked a dramatic butterfly gown by Dubai-based designer Michael Cinco Michael in shades of purple, red and blue.



With her lips accentuated by a scarlet shade, and eyes done up with a smoky effect, Aishwarya kept her hair straight and simple with a neat middle parting. She kept her accessories minimalistic with just danglers and a couple of rings.



Being a power woman that she is, Aishwarya next choose a classic black, Giorgio Armani pant suit and teamed it with a pair of chic Racine Carree heels while sporting bright red lips.

Next, we saw Aishwarya in a Manish Malhotra creation, nailing a photo shoot session. The Bollywood actress wore a white shirt with a high waisted, structured black skirt, and flung a floral patterned, heavily sequined, orange jacket over her shoulders.



For her final red carpet look, the diva wore a crystallised minted custom-made gown by Rami Kadi Couture.




Styled by celebrity stylist Aastha Sharma, Aishwarya wore minimal jewellery from the house of Boucheron. Hair stylist and expert Stephane Lancien pulled her hair into a sleek, high-bun with straight, sleek strands of hair sticking out.


L’oreal Paris India’s Twitter account gave the details of her on-point eye make-up and soft rose lip-colour as this: “Infallible Pro Matte Liquid lipstick 300 Blushing Ambition with a stunning eye look using Superliner Superstar Duo Designer Silver, La Palette Nude Beige & Superstar mascara”.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan undoubtedly ruled once again on the Cannes red carpet with her glamorous style statements.

Before she went for the red carpet, Aishwarya was welcomed with a loud cheer from the crowd. She waved out and signed autographs, apart from gesturing the traditional Indian ‘namaste’.
