Bulandshahr violence: Armyman Jitendra Malik to be produced before court

Bulandshehr, Dec 9 :Army jawan Jitendra Malik accused in Bulandshahr violence,who was handed over to Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF)by Army,has been brought to Syana police station for further questioning.

Jitendra Malik, alias Jeetu Fauji has been named in the FIR filed in Bulandshahr violence as Malik is allegedly involved in the violence that led to the killing of Inspector Subodh Singh and Sumit Kumar The violence was triggered after cow carcasses were found in nearby field in Bulandshahr.

SSP Abhishek Singh of STF Meerut was quoted by ANI as saying,” We’ve arrested Army jawan Jitendra Malik, he was handed over by Army at 12:50 am today.Preliminary interrogation has been done.He is being sent to Bulandshahr, will be produced before court for judicial custody”.

“He accepted he was there when crowd started gathering. Prima facie, it has been found true. It’s not yet ascertained if he is the one who shot Inspector or Sumit. He said he went there with villagers,but denied pelting stones on police.Forensic of his mobile will be done,” SSP Abhishek Singh said.

He was detained from 22 Rashtriya Rifles Army camp in Sopore. Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh and a 22-year-old  Sumit Kumar were killed in  Bulandshahr violence.
