Bulandshahr, Dec 20: A BJP MLA on Thursday wrote to 83 former bureaucrats seeking Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s resignation over the Bulandshahr mob violence.

BJP MLA Sanjay Sharma from Anupshahr in an open letter said that “You’re seeing deaths of only Sumit and a police officer but not the deaths of 21 cows”.

This comes amid Opposition’s allegations that the Uttar Pradesh police were shifting the focus of their probe from arresting the accused in the policeman’s death to solving the case of alleged cow slaughter.

Inspector Subodh Singh and a civilian, identified as Sumit, lost their lives in the December 3 violence that broke out over alleged cow slaughter in  Bulandshahr.

On Wednesday, the family of deceased Sumit also met the Chief Minister.

So far, the police have arrested 25 persons in connection with the incident.

Earlier in a day, one of the accused surrendered before the Bulandshahr Court of Judicial Magistrate.
