BSP Chief Mayawati expels Karnataka MLA Mahesh for not voting in favour of Kumaraswamy


New Delhi, July 23 : Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Tuesday has expelled MLA N Mahesh with immediate effect for abstaining during the trust vote .

After a prolonged debate on trust vote, the HD Kumaraswamy government on Tuesday lost the confidence motion the chief minister had moved last week. The ruling coalition could manage only 99 votes in support of the motion while 105 votes were polled against the trust vote.

BSP Chief Mayawati tweeted, ” Despite directions from party high command to vote in favor of HD Kumaraswamy, BSP MLA N Mahesh didn’t attend the trust vote and violated directions, which is an act of indiscipline. Party has taken this seriously and expelled him with immediate effect. “

BSP MLA N Mahesh had not shown up for the proceedings inside Vidhana Soudha and for this, he was expelled. “
