The BSF on Sunday held a man near the Bangladesh border in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district and seized a quantity of arms and ammunition and narcotics from him, an official said.
The man Milan Mondal aged 42 was arrested by the Border Security Force (BSF) troopers under Madhupana border outpost area.
“We recovered two home-made pistols, 4 magazines and 10 rounds bullets besides 100 grams of a brown powder, suspected to be heroin. Mondal along with the seized materials has been handed over to police,” said a BSF officer.
The BSF has has held sound smugglers and seized at least 34 guns and nearly one kg of narcotics from across its South Bengal frontier zone in this year.
