BMC finds breeding mosquitoes at Sushmita Sen

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation after an inspection at former Miss Universe and Bollywood actress Susmita Sen’s house, found dengue breeding mosquito at her house in Khar on Monday.

BMC were trying to conduct an inspection in Sushmita’s Khar house for past few days. Rise of Dengue and Chikungunya in city, BMC  is taking all possible steps to curb the spread of the disease.

Earlier, a notice was also served to actor Shahid Kapoor by BMC as mosquito breeding spots were found on the premises of his house.

Pankaj Kapur to be honoured with ‘Icons of Indian Cinema’ Award

Mumbai, Sep 26: Actor-director Pankaj Kapur will be honoured with ‘Icons of Indian Cinema’ Award at the closing ceremony of the ninth edition of Jagran Film Festival here.

The closing ceremony of the Mumbai edition will take place on Sunday, read a statement.

Pankaj, also a theatre artiste, is known for featuring in films like “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro”, “Raakh” and “Maqbool”.

The festival started in Delhi on June 29 before travelling to cities like Kanpur, Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi, Patna, Dehradun, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bhopal, Indore, Gorakhpur, Agra, Ludhiana, Hissar, Meerut and Raipur.

Mumbai, Sep 26: Anupam Kher has urged Manmohan Singh to watch “The Accidental Prime Minister”, in which the actor essays the former Prime Minister.

Anupam, who has wished Singh on his 86th birthday on Wednesday, tweeted: “Respected Dr Manmohan Singh! Here is wishing you a very happy and healthy birthday. Maybe I will get an opportunity to have a cup of tea and a piece of cake with you if you ever watch our film. I promise, you will like my portrayal.”

The 63-year-old actor said that his portrayal as Singh is “full of sincerity and honesty”.

The film is based on a book by Sanjaya Baru, a former media advisor to Manmohan Singh. Akshaye Khanna features as Baru, and Divya Seth Shah plays Manmohan Singh’s wife Gursharan Kaur in the movie.

It is directed by debutant Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, along with Hansal Mehta as the creative producer.

The script of “The Accidental Prime Minister”, produced by Bohra Bros, is written by Mayank Tewari. It is slated to release on December 21.

Ranveer Singh has ‘fan moment’ on meeting P.V. Sindhu

Mumbai, Sep 26: Actor Ranveer Singh says he had a fan moment meeting Indian star shuttler P.V. Sindhu and added that he loves her spirit.

Ranveer met Sindhu on Tuesday at the Forbes India Tycoon Of Tomorrow event, where he was feted with the Youth Icon Award.

Sindhu shared a photograph of herself with the actor and captioned it: “Finally we meet! It was such a pleasure meeting you and an absolute fan moment.I congratulate you for all the success and I wish you all the very best for your future endeavours. I would rather call you ‘rockstar’ than Ranveer Singh.”

To which, Ranveer replied: “Yes, finally! it was a pleasure indeed! and likewise, a fan moment for me too… You make us so proud, champ! Love your spirit. May you continue to shine bright.”

On the acting front, Ranveer is currently busy shooting for filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s “Simmba”, which also features actor Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara.
