Bengaluru, Feb 9: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday kicked off his campaigning for Karnataka election from  Bellary. In his first public meeting after becoming the President of the Congress party, he said,”Trust only those who tell you the truth. Those who make false promises and who give false hope will not benefit anyone.”

Taking a dig at Narendra Modi’s speech in Parliament Rahul; said, “Modi didn’t speak about future, or giving employment to youth, or help to farmers in his one-hour long speech in Parliament. He spent one hour talking about Congress party & past. The country wants to listen about future from the PM.”

“PM Modi’s speech and BJP’s behaviour in the Parliament shows that they want to spend their energy to be in direct confrontation with the Congress Party, instead of building this nation,” he added.

Rahul also took up the issue of Rafael deal to criticise the Modi government, he said, “Modi Ji changed the contract himself which was earlier given to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. He seized the contract from HAL & gave it to his friend.”
