New Delhi: Reacting to BJP’s demand of reopening of all places of worship, Maharashtra cabinet Minister Aslam Shaikh slammed BJP and advised them to make same demand to their own Chief Ministers of other states where all places of worship are still closed.

“In Goa why Churches are closed? BJP leaders of Maharashtra should ask their own Minister to reopen these places of worships in their own state. We care for people of Maharashtra and for their lives. We will be opening up the things but slowly and gradually,” said Minister Shaikh.

Shaikh further added that “We don’t work like PM of India who announced lockdown and demonetisation within few hours and left people clueless what to do next. MVA govt doesn’t work like this.”

Reacting to allegations made by Devendra Fadnavis about moving of Aarey car shed to Kanjurmarg, Shaikh said, “For us the environment is important. We had promised in our manifesto that if we come in power, we will not allow car shed to happen in Aarey. Land at Kanjurmarg is state govt land so no extra cost we have to bear. Also, we will try to complete the project within stipulated time.”

Minister Shaikh also took a jibe at Fadnavis over his flagship scheme called ‘Jalyukt Shivar’ (Water conservation scheme). “Our Govt has ordered prob in this scheme, the CAG report has also raised many questions regarding this scheme. If ‘Jalyukt Shivar’ scheme has not benefited the people of Maharashtra, if it has not helped to increase water levels of the districts and villages which implemented it, then this scheme was floated for whom? In this probe, it will be crystal clear.
