BJP/RSS believe freedom of expression must be policed, controlled: Rahul

New Delhi, July 14: In a scathing attack, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that BJP and RSS believe freedom of expression must be policed and controlled. 

” BJP/RSS believe the freedom of expression must be policed and controlled. I believe this freedom is a fundamental democratic right”, he tweeted.

Reacting to controversial Sacred Games in which derogatory language has been used against former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, the Congress President said “My father lived and died in the service of India. The views of a character on a fictional web series can never change that”.

Earlier this week, the Congress registered a police complaint against actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and the producers of the Netflix series “Sacred Games” for insulting former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and sought probe into it.

Congress leader  Rajeev Sinha suspected political motives behind maligning former party Prime Ministers in the Netflix series “Sacred Games”.

A complaint has been filed against actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and the producers of the web series in Kolkata, for insulting former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and “misrepresenting facts during his regime.
