Gorakhpur , June 17: Demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the attack on his brother Kashif Jameel, Dr Kafeel Khan, who was jailed in the Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur BRD Medical College case involving the death of 63 children on Sunday alleged that the shooters were hired by Bharatiya Janata Party MP Kamlesh Paswan and Baldev Plaza owner Satish Nangalia.
“BJP MP Kamlesh Paswan and Satish Nangalia, owner of Baldev plaza, hired shooters for this. Paswan has no personal enmity with my brother. My uncle has piece of land which he and Satish encroached upon in February,” said Khan, adding that an FIR was lodged in the case and that they had sought stay order by High Court on arrests.

He demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or a High Court judge into the attack on his brother.
Questioning the role of Uttar Pradesh police who are investigating that case, Khan told media persons in Gorakhpur, “It was very evident that UP Police was acting on omeone’s instructions. Their intention was clear.”
Doctor Kafeel Khan on Saturday met UP’s Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Anand Kumar and told him of the “laxity” of police officers in Gorakhpur.
” It was promised that the culprits will be nabbed within 48 hours. It has been a week now but no action has been taken yet, no arrests have been made yet, ” Khan told mediapersons alleging laxity in the investigation
Kafeel said that the Gorakhpur police have not taken any action till now. He further said that no one has been arrested so far in connection with the incident where his brother was shot at by unidentified assailants.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday wrote a letter to the paediatrician and expressed concern over a recent attack on the brother of Kafeel Khan and said the incident shows the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh.
Gandhi demanded a probe into the “laxity” in the case, Uttar Pradesh Congress spokesman Amarnath Agarwal said.
Jameel was shot at in Gorakhpur on Sunday night when he was returning home on his bike near JP Hospital in Humayunpur north area, with three bullets hitting him.and is now admitted at the King George Medical University trauma centre in Lucknow.
One bullet had hit him in the neck and another on the upper arm and he underwent surgery at a private hospital in Gorakhpur. Dr Kafeel Khan had accused police of delaying his brother’s surgery. Dr Kafeel Khan is an accused in the BRD Medical College case related to the deaths of 63 children.
