BJP manifesto cut-paste job: Samajwadi Party

Jan 29: As Bharatiya Janata Party released its Manifesto ahead of UP polls, the Samajwadi Party on Saturday claimed manifesto, Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra, has copied the same.

The party highlighted the free laptop scheme mentioned in both the manifestoes as one of the “cut and paste” jobs.

Samajwadi Party (SP) distributed free laptops to meritorious students in its present tenure and has promised to continue the scheme but after a defeat in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the scheme seems to have been abandoned.

When asked about the same, Amit Shah said that BJP’s scheme promises laptops to all without caste preferences, directly hitting SP claiming that it was the what Samajwadi Party did.

The BJP and the SP manifestoes also promised free schooling for girls, filling of vacancies in the state police, setting dairy plants etc.

However, BJP said that has said that their manifesto was not only different but also was above caste and other petty considerations, which it alleged was not being done under Akhilesh Yadav’s watch.
