BJP is implementing schemes started by Congress recklessly : Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Oct 4: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday reached  his Lok Sabha constituency “Amethi”, Uttar Pradesh. Where he launched scathing attack on the BJP by saying the government is implementing schemes recklessly which were started by the UPA.

While addressing people, he recalled how Prime Minister Narendra Modi had “ridiculed” the rural job scheme, MGNREGA, which was a Congress brainchild.

“But Modi realized later what the MGNREGA meant for the common man and he began praising it” , he added.

He targeted Modi for taking decisions Unanimously .

“But the BJP people don’t do that. Modi doesn’t consult anybody. For example the Swachhta scheme. He suddenly thinks that India should be cleaned and without asking anyone will order everyone to take a broom and clean India,” Gandhi stated.

Congress Vice President said the GST was also a Congress initiative and the party-led government had come up with the tax reform after consulting people, including small traders and farmers.

“They told us that it was good to replace several taxes with one tax but there should not be any increase in taxes. We promised them that there will be a maximum tax of 18 per cent under the GST. But the BJP government created many slabs with the maximum of 28 per cent and then every state has its own GST.”

Gandhi asserted that the “wrong implementation” of single tax regime has caused several hardships to small traders and called the roll out as “hasty and reckless” decision.

Launching potshots at the government over unemployment he said they have failed  to create jobs as in India everyday 30,000 people seek employment, among them only 400 clinch it.

During his Uttar Pradesh visit, Gandhi is slated to hold ‘chaupals’ with farmers, meetings with locals as well as party leaders.
