BJP govt’s economic policies favour the rich, says Rahul Gandhi


Padubidri, March 20: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday hit out at the Narendra Modi government saying they favoured the rich and had ignored the interests of farmers, poor people, traders and small businesses.

Addressing a  ‘Corner Meeting’ organised by the Kaup Block Congress Committee, Gandhi stated ” In last few years BJP govt waived off a loan of 2.5 lakh cr of 15 richest people.

“When farmers talk about the loan waiver, PM Modi & FM say it isn’t their policy. Siddharamaih ji & Congress govt in K’taka waived off loan of Rs 8,000 cr of farmers of Karnataka”.

After concluding the ‘Corner Meeting’ in Padubidri, the Congress president paid a visit to the Sri Brahmashri Narayana Guru Mandira at Hejmady village and offered prayers.

He was accompanied by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and other leaders.

Earlier in a day, Gandhi also inaugurated the Rajiv Gandhi Political Institute at Tenka Yermal and interacted with the State office-bearers of the Cognress Seva Dal.
