New Delhi, July 14:The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has vehemently denied any assurances given by party president Amit Shah regarding construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya before 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The BJP has issued clarification that the report about Shri Ram Janmabhoomi dispute is completely incorrect and the “matter relating to construction of Ram temple was not on the agenda ” in Hyderabad meeting .

The IANS agency reported that Shah told a meeting of party leaders in Hyderabad that steps will be taken to clear the decks for launching construction of the temple before the polls.

“Considering the developments, I believe that construction of Ram temple will begin before the coming general elections,” according to IANS ,Perala Sekharjee quoted Shah as saying.

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board said in the Supreme Court on Friday that it wants to settle the Ayodhya dispute peacefully and is willing to donate one-third of the land granted to Muslims by the Allahabad high court to Hindus for building the Ram temple.

The top court is hearing an appeal whether the Ayodhya matter should be heard by the larger Constitution bench.

Recently, Union Minister Uma Bharati rejected Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s appeal for keeping patience saying that the BJP has governments at the Centre and state and they should take a ‘historical and bold’ decision to begin the temple construction in Ayodhya at the earliest.

National general secretary and lawmaker Anil Jain said his party is committed to five things including revocation of Article 370 which accords a special status to the state.

Listing “Uniform Civil Code, Ram Mandir, the Ganga and cow,” as other subject matters of party’s commitment, Jain said these issues can only be delayed for some time depending on the developing situation in the country.

“I am serious of my words… The BJP is committed to the issues of cow, Ganga, Uniform Civil Code, Article 370 and Ram Mandir. Given the emerging situation, one or the other might take time to get fulfilled,” Jain told reporters

BJP National Executive member Perala Sekharjee briefed the media about the meeting at BJP’s Telangana state unit office.

The BJP chief, who arrived on a day-long visit to Hyderabad on Friday, also told the meeting that the elections will not be advanced .
