But ever since Alia started dating Ranbir, there have been reports that the girls were no longer on sweet terms. Even the Instagram posts have vanished.

Reacting to these reports, Alia said, “I don’t check my Instagram likes. So, I don’t know why people are checking that? But I have to admit I have always been very fond of Katrina.

“I believe that its the same both ways, according to us. So, I don’t know why other people feel differently?

“But now I will send her a message to start liking my pictures because if that’s the barometer of friendship then we must start liking everyone’s picture.”

“Or maybe, I don’t have good pictures,” Alia said, adding that from now on she will post good pictures and then maybe “she will like it. But with her, I have no stress whatsoever”.

Alia was shooting for “Brahmastra” in Bulgaria, not long ago. It is written and directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar. It stars Ranbir-Alia and Amitabh Bachchan.

The “Student of the Year” actor will also be seen in the historical magnum opus “Takht”.

Asked about the challenges of playing a historical character, Alia said: “Honestly, to take any kind of character is challenging whether it’s historical or contemporary or modern.

“I am just very happy and honoured to be associated with such a big film… and to be directed by Karan (Johar) again.”

New Delhi, Aug 14: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who is gearing up for the release of his next film ‘Gold’, met the ‘living hockey legend’, Balbir Singh on Monday.

Kumar took to his social media to praise Balbir Singh, stating that he was a part of the winning team that brought home the first prestigious Gold for India back in 1948.

Akshay will be seen playing the role of the hockey coach who trains team India to win its first gold medal as a free nation at 1948 Olympics. Balbir Singh was also a part of the team that helped the country achieve this feat.

Singh is a three-time Olympic gold champion. He played a key role in India’s Olympic victories in London (1948), as a Vice-Captain in Helsinki (1952) and as the Captain in Melbourne (1956). As a matter of fact, he still holds the record for the most number of goals scored by an individual. No hockey player has yet been able to beat that record.

A historical sports drama inspired by India’s first Olympic gold medal, “Gold” traces the “golden era” of Indian hockey through the journey of Tapan Das, a young assistant manager in 1936, who dreamt of playing for an independent nation.

‘Rashtraputra’ maker lends his voice for ‘Vande Mataram’

Rashtraputra

Mumbai, Aug 14: Filmmaker and actor Aazaad, who is coming up with a new film “Rashtraputra”, the life story of Indian freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad, has lent his voice for the song ‘Vande Mataram’, released here on Monday.

Rashtraputra

Written by late poet Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, the song is different from its popular version.

Only the first two verses of the song were adopted as the National Song of India in October 1937 by the Congress Working Committee. The other verses that included references to Hindu goddesses Durga and Lakshmi were expunged, keeping in view the sentiments of the non-Hindu population.

However, the newly released version of ‘Vande Mataram’ for the film ‘Rashtraputra’ celebrates the later verses of the original song.

“I am lucky to have sung and composed this powerful song. This song is very unique because we are presenting soul mantra of ‘Vande Mataram’,” Aazaad said.

Apart from ‘Vande Mataram’, the film has songs composed by Bappi Lahiri, sung by Palak Muchhal, Aish King and Mika Singh and produced by Bombay Talkies Music Gharana.

Directed by Aazaad and produced by the Bombay Talkies, the film “Rashtraputra” is slated to be released on September 14.
