Patna, Aug 26, 2017: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his visit to flood-affected Bihar by saying that “this flood did not occur naturally but was brought to the state by the engineers working for Nitish Kumar.”
Speaking to media in Patna, Lalu asked “When Bihar suffered due to floods in the past, Modi did not feel it was important enough to visit the state then. He didn’t allocate even a single penny for relief when the state was overwhelm by the flood in the past”.
Targeting the Bihar Chief Minister, Lalu said, “This flood did not occur naturally. This flood was brought to the state by the engineers working for Nitish Kumar.”
Earlier, RJD supremo questioned the purpose of Modi’s visit to the state now that the water has already receded in many parts.
The Bihar Disaster Management Department official said 158.305 lakh persons in 2,313 panchayats under 185 blocks in 19 districts have been affected by the floods.
