May 30 , Tuesday : Bihar witnessed a huge downfall in pass percentage due to strict measures taken against cheating, as per the results declared today.
Nearly, 12 lakh students appeared this year for intermediate board exams out of which 7, 94,622 have failed and only 1, 03,460 scored the first division.
This year, CCTV cameras were installed at entrance of examination centres and videography was conducted during the examination.
Khushbu Kumari of Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya , Jamui district with 86.2 percent topped in the Science stream. She secured 431 out of 500 marks.
Ganesh Kumar of Samastipur district scoring 413 out of 500 marks topped in the Commerce stream.
“It is a historical result of the Class 12 exams in many ways. The pass percentage may have drastically fallen in Science and Commerce streams this year, but the exam was free from cheating,” board chairman Anand Kishore told media.
