Bidita Bag excited for socially relevant films

Mumbai, Sep 1: Actress Bidita Bag, whose latest movie “Babumoshai Bandookbaaz” has earned over Rs 12 crore in a week since its release, says she wants to do socially relevant films which don’t leave the audience bored.

Bidita told media in the success party of film: “I want to do socially relevant films which will have a message. I would again want to work with Nawazuddin (Siddiqui) and Kushan (director Kushan Nandy) in a film.”

“‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ is a very quirky film, but it also has a social message. So I want to do films which will have entertainment value, social message, comedy and all other elements. I just don’t want to bore the audience.”

Commenting on the film’s budget, Bidita said: “This is my first Bollywood commercial debut. Our film is doing quite well. This film was made on very small budget of around Rs 3 crore and Rs 2 crore was (spent) for marketing.”

Bidita said “that’s really a great thing” about the collection of film.

“I have been getting messages on Twitter and Facebook. I am overwhelmed,” she said with the hard work of whole team as well.

Bidita’s next film “Rabbi” is going to release on September 15, directed and produced by Rahat Kazmi.

Amitabh Bachchan shares pictures from the sets of ‘Badla’

Mumbai, June 19: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan shared the first look of the sets of his upcoming movie ‘Badla’.

Senior Bachchan sported a suave and suited look from the sets of the movie.

Big B tweeted that he is relieved to be finally away from prosthetics and heavy costumes.

He shared two photographs of himself dressed in a black suit saying, “Confined, conscious and content until, the film releases. This be the life of creativity. ‘Badla’ moves each day. Finally away from and distant from prosthetics and heavy costume armour!”

The 75-year-old thespian, who has previously described prosthetic make-up as a “torture” on his blog.

The actor earlier donned prosthetic make-up to look like a 12-year-old boy suffering from a rare genetic disorder called progeria in the 2009 movie “Paa” and for his latest release “102 Not Out”.

On the work front, Big B has two more films in his kitty — “Thugs Of Hindostan” and “Brahmastra”.

“Badla” also stars Taapsee Pannu. This will be the second time that Amitabh and Taapsee will be seen sharing screen space again after “Pink”.

However this will be the fourth time Big B will be collaborating with Ghosh. The two have previously worked in films like “TE3N”, “Kahaani” and “Aladin”.

‘Gold’ new poster out: Checkout Akshay Kumar’s intense look

New Delhi, June 19: Akshay Kumar, whose last film Padman had created a rage of sorts, is back with another film, Gold. The sports drama is directed by Reema Kagti. It is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment banner.

Akshay took to Twitter to share a new poster wherein he is seen with the hockey team. He has an intense look on his face and well, he is the new age Bharat Kumar. He captioned the image as, “The dream that united our nation, The dream that began in 1936, The dream that took 12 years to become a reality. Get ready to witness… #GoldTrailer releasing on the 25th of June.”

Khiladi Kumar also revealed that Gold’s trailer will be releasing on 25th June.

Akshay will be seen in a totally different avatar on-screen. A few days back, the first look poster of ‘Gold’ was unveiled and it received a warm response from the audiences.

The newly released Gold promo showed how one man’s dream led Britishers to stand up for Indian national anthem after 200 years.

The film will be laced with patriotic fervour and national spirit.

“Gold” will mark the Bollywood debut of popular TV actress Mouni Roy in lead role with Akshay Kumar and will also feature Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh, Sunny Kaushal playing pivotal parts.

The film is about India’s first Olympic medal win as a free nation in 1948 at the 14th Olympic Games at London. It will release on Independence Day in 2018.

Post Gold, Akshay will be seen in Kesari which is again a period film based on the Battle of Saragarhi.

Chart-topping rapper XXXTentacion shot dead in Florida

New York, June 19: US rapper XXXTentacion, who shot to fame with consecutive hit albums, has been killed aged 20.

He was reportedly shopping for a motorcycle in south Florida when a gunman opened fire on his vehicle, reported BBC.

Police in Broward County said XXXTentacion, whose real name is Jahseh Onfroy, was taken to hospital and later pronounced dead.

He was often described as one of rap’s most controversial artists and was facing domestic violence charges.

A witness told celebrity news website TMZ that multiple shots rang out outside the motorcycle dealership.
