New Delhi,2 August: A singer-turned-politician Bhagwant Mann, the Aam Aadmi Party MP have been suggested by some of his Lok Sabha colleagues to send him to a rehab center for drug and alcohol de-addiction.
Some MPs, including Shiromani Akali Dal’s Prem Singh Chandumajra, BJP’s Maheish Girri and suspended AAP MP Harinder Singh Khalsa have written to Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, urging her to send Mann+ to rehab at the Lok Sabha’s expense, reported new agency ANI.
The MPs urged the Speaker to ensure that Mann is allowed to take part in Lok Sabha proceedings only after completing rehab.
They have also requested the Speaker to let Lok Sabha bear the expense for Bhagwant Mann’s treatment.
The Lok Sabha Speaker had constituted a nine-member panel under the chairmanship of BJP MP Kirit Somaiya to probe the Parliament security breach video shot by AAP MP Bhagwant Mann. Mann had posted the video on Facebook which he deleted after he was accused of breaching the security of the parliament.
Mann had offered an unconditional apology for posting the video on Facebook although he had urged an action against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for putting India’s security in danger by allowing the visit of a Pakistani investigation team to Pathankot airbase for probing the terror attack.
