Berlin market attack- Suspect killed in shootout in Italy

 Berlin/Milan December 23: A man believed to be the suspect in the Berlin Christmas market truck attack was shot dead by police in Milan when the person fired at an officer. The man fired at an officer on a routine patrol has been identified as Berlin truck terror suspect Anis Amri.

Tunisian Anis Amri is suspected of killing 12 people and injuring 48 in Berlin. He had been under covert surveillance for several months this year and is known to have up to six aliases.  An Israeli woman, Dalia Elyakim, and Italian Fabrizia Di Lorenzo are among the dead. Six of the victims are German. The market where the attack happened has now reopened.

The Italian Interior Ministry has confirmed the report.
