Amid talks of a Indian cabinet reshuffle, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met his council of ministers and reviewed the important projects, official sources said.
The discussion holds significance as it is being held at a juncture when the Cabinet rejig is said to be round the corner. There are reports that those ministers who have failed to perform would either see a change of portfolio or be moved to the organisation.
PM Modi’s meeting with his council of ministers comes a day after he met Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley at his residence.
After the Wednesday meeting, speculation mounted that Modi, who became the Prime Minister in May 2014, may carry out his first major ministerial reshuffle.
The sources said the union ministers were likely to make presentations on the performance of their ministries to Modi on Thursday.
