Mumbai, Sep 22: Bollywood actor John Abraham, who is all set to play a policeman in Batla House, has unveiled the first look of his film.

The film will hit the screens on August 15, 2019, clashing with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s “Brahmastra” and Rajkummar Rao’s “Made In China”.

Sharing the film’s poster on Twitter, John wrote: “Every story has two points of view. One wrong. The other right. But what if the lines are blurred? Very very blurred!”

In the poster, John can be seen in a policeman’s avatar and he is surrounded with several news headlines of the encounter.

Sharing another poster, he wrote: “Encounters: 70 Cases: 33 Convictions: 22 Gallantry Awards: 9 Accusations: 1 “When everything you’ve achieved could be wiped out in that one moment.” The story of India’s Most Decorated/Controversial Cop.”

Known for doing patriotic movies like “Madras Cafe” and “Parmanu – The Story Of Pokhran” and his latest release “Satyameva Jayate”, John will once again be seen donning the patriotism on his sleeve in “Batla House” by essaying police officer Sanjay Kumar Yadav who led the Batla House encounter.

The “Batla House” makers is based on a real-life incident about the Delhi spot where a shootout took place in 2008.

Helmed by director Nikkhil Advani, the film is written by Ritesh Shah.

While announcing the release date, Advani tweeted: “Have waited for a long time for this story to be told. Unveiling an explosive account of one of the most controversial events to have rocked modern India.”

Jacqueline Fernandez

Genda phool, sung by Badshah and Payal Dev, has garnered over 550 million views on YouTube, and actress Jacqueline Fernandez, who stars in its music video, is happy.

The song ran into controversy upon release in March when charges of plagiarism rose. The song draws its hook line from a classic Bengali folk song, “Boro loker biti lo”, and social media was quick to notice that fact. Badshah later contacted Ratan Kahar, creator of the Bengali original, in an effort to sort things up.

The video features random shots of Durga Puja festivities, and Jacqueline is seen in a sari that is worn the traditional Bengali way in some scenes.

“I am extremely happy and grateful that people have showered so much love towards the song. We crossed 550 million views recently and it’s insane. I had so much fun shooting this song. It was a different experience as genre was unexplored for me. The whole process was super exciting, from wearing a Bengali attire that I had never donned to experiencing the touch of folk music and overall, the vibe with its beats,” said Jacqueline.

“It was lovely to see the fan videos as well as the fans recreating the looks and making dance covers on it. I am so happy that we could entertain everyone with this track during the lockdown”, she added. The song also has Pahari and Gujarati versions.
