Barack Obama rebukes Donald Trump for Campaign rhetoric

At a Democratic fundraising event in Dallas, Texas, President Barack Obama took a swipe at Trump’s wine label — just a tiny piece of his sprawling business empire.’Has anybody bought that wine?’ he went on… apparently meaning the wine Trump sells. ‘I want to know what that wine tastes like.

Later he fired up the crowd by playing off of Trump’s ‘make America great again’ slogan.

”America’s moving forward right now. The American people should be proud of what we achieve together right now.

‘So what we should be focused on is how we can do even better.

‘Build on the progress, not reverse it. Instead we have a debate inside the other party that is fantasy and schoolyard taunts and selling stuff like it’s the home shopping network,’ he said.

Trump’s inflammatory language is being criticised by Democrats and Obama said “What the folks who are running for office should be focused on is how we can make it even better — not insults and schoolyard taunts and manufacturing facts, not divisiveness along the lines of race and faith. Certainly not violence against other Americans.”.

Obama went on to mock establishment Republicans for being “shocked” by Trump’s stances on Muslims and Mexican immigrants.

“How could you be shocked? This was the guy who was sure I was born in Kenya,” Obama said. “As long as it was being directed at me they were fine with it.”
