Baba Ramdev distances him from Modi, says I can sell petrol, diesel for Rs 35-40 per litre

Sep 17 : Baba Ramdev, who has supported policies of the Narendra Modi government till now, seemed to be distancing himself with the BJP. Yoga Guru Ramdev has claimed that he won’t campaign for the Bharartiya Janta party in 2019 Lok Sabha Polls and said that he can sell petrol and diesel for just Rs 35-40 per litre.

Admitting that rising fuel prices will adversely affect  the Narendra Modi government ,  Ramdev said, “It is going to cost the government dearly.”

Ramdev said that fuel should be brought under the Goods and Service Tax (GST),  “If the government allow me, and gives some relief in tax, I can give petrol diesel to India at Rs 35-45 per litre,” the yoga guru said.

He also called for bringing petrol and diesel under the lowest slab of the uniform Goods and Services Tax (GST), and not the 28 per cent rate, as people’s “pockets are being emptied”.

Ramdev has made it clear  that he would not campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha polls next year.”I have withdrawn myself politically. I am with all parties and I am with no parties,” Ramdev told the news channel.

The Yoga guru, who campaigned for the BJP in 2014, told NTDV, “Why would I.”

In 2015, the Modi government provided Ramdev with Z-category security. He was also named the state ambassador for the Haryana government.
