Mumbai, Sep 14: Just like every year, this year too Mukesh and Nita Ambani welcomed Lord Ganesha on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.




Keeping up with the tradition of inviting the who’s who of Bollywood, they hosted superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karishma Kapoor, Rekha, Hema Malini, Karan Johar, Madhuri Dixit and others at their Mumbai grand home ‘Antilia’ on Thursday evening.



Kareena and Karishma arrived at the event together. Kareena looked beautiful as she was seen wearing a knee-length yellow kurti with a gorgeous floor-grazing sharara and silk satin pink odhani. Karishma, on the other hand, looked stunning wearing a yellow salwar churidar. She matched it with a pair of earrings and a pair of juttis.


Shah Rukh came along with wife Gauri Khan.


Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan who arrived alone wore a traditional white kurta and churidar pyjama with a contrasting black bundee.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan was looking simple yet elegant in a white kurta and pyjama with a shawl.

Salman Khan who is known to steal the show with his dapper look arrived in a black pathani kurta and pyjama set, later joined by his Bharat co-actor Katrina Kaif who looked lovely in red.

Madhuri Dixit who was looking beautiful in blue saree was captured with her husband.

Sachin Tendulkar attended the celebrations with his wife Anjali and son Arjun. Other cricketers joining the party were Zaheer Khan with wife Sagarika Gatge and fast-bowler Hardik Pandya.

Also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, the auspicious day marks the birth of Hindu God Ganesha and starts with the ‘sthapana’ of the Lord in the house, ending with ‘visarjan’ on the tenth day.

Devotees clean up their houses and install idols of Lord Ganesha and worship him with flowers and delicious sweets.

The celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi started on Thursday (September 13) and the visarjan will take place on September 23.
