Ayodhya, Oct 5 : Swami Paramhans Das, Mahant of Tapaswi Chhawni temple is on an indefinite hunger strike to build pressure on the Narendra Modi government for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya . His fast entered fifth day on Friday.
He said BJP-led government at Centre should make a law for the construction of Ram Temple.
Mahant said that he will continue his fast until death. He said “PM Narendra Modi should announce the date of Ram temple construction as BJP was elected only for the cause of Ram-Janambhoomi but they are silent.”
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said that the RSS and the BJP are committed to constructing the temple in Ayodhya but certain things take time.
Meanwhile, a meeting of Vishva Hindu Parishad is taking place in the national capital where Several saints and seers are participating to discuss the arguments of Hindu organisations in the Ayodhya title suit hearing, which is scheduled to begin in the Supreme Court on October 29. The Sunni Waqf board is also meeting in Delhi to decide its course of action in the case.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya had said that Narendra Modi-led government at the centre has an option to adopt the legislative route in Parliament for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya.
“When such a need arises that there is no way out except bringing a Bill, I am fully confident that in such a situation and when we have adequate strength (in both Houses of Parliament), remember these two things,”Maurya said.
“People have faith that Supreme Court’s judgement will come soon and obstacles in the constructions of Ram Mandir will be removed. Either the judgement will come soon or we’ll find a solution through dialogue.
Third option of passing a law in the Parliament is also open, ” the deputy chief minister admitted that Modi led NDA government at the centre may opt for the legislative route in Parliament for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya.
The court will soon give its judgement. He asserted that if the grand Ram temple was built, it will be a “true tribute” to VHP stalwart Ashok Singhal, Mahant Sri Ramchandra Das Paramhans (former head of the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas in Ayodhya) and karsewaks who sacrificed their lives.
