Vajpayee’s photo missing from Atal Vikas Yatra advertisements

Chhattisgarh, Sep 6: Chhattisgarh Bharatiya Janta Party has landed into a controversy after late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s picture was missing from Atal Vikas Yatra advertisements. 

To respect Vajpayee’s grand stature, the BJP had decided to immerse the ashes of former Prime Minister in all the holy rivers of including Ganga, Yamuna, and Tapti.

Last Month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and other senior leaders including BJP Chief Amit Shah distributed urns carrying ashes of late Vajpayee to party presidents of all state units. Following this, Asthi Kalash Yatra was organised in all the states.

Similarly, after Asthi Kalash Yatra in Chattisgarh, BJP President Amit Shah launched the second phase of  Chief Minister Raman Singh’s ‘vikas yatra’ on September 5.

And former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was commemorated during the yatra, which had been named ‘Atal Vikas Yatra’.

The BJP gave full-page advertisements but instead of Vajpayee’s picture, it had BJP President Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi picture.

The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party for disrespecting Vajapayee.

Earlier also, the BJP ministers showed a disrespectful behaviour on stage during a ceremony to immerse the ashes of Bharat Ratna awardee.

In a viral video, Chhattisgarh Health Minister Ajay Chandrakar and Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agarwal were seen laughing and sharing jokes during the mourning ceremony.

Vajpayee died on August 16 and he was cremated on the next day with full state honour at Smriti Sthal in the national capital.
