Jakarta, Aug 19 : Indian shooters Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar bagged the bronze medal in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event at the 18th Asian Games Jakarta on Sunday.
Chinese Taipei won the gold with a score of 494.1 while China took silver with 492.5.
The Indian pair scored 429.9 in the final round to finish on the podium.
In the qualification round, Apurvi and Ravi had finished second with the a cumulative score of 835.3. Korea on the other hand created a new Games record, finishing in the top spot with a score of 836.7.
The other mixed team in contention today, comprising CWG star Manu Bhaker and Abhishek Verma failed to qualify for the finals of the 10m air pistol mixed team event
While Sandeep Tomar has beaten Rustem Nazarov 12-8 to move into the quarter-finals of the Men’s 57kg freestyle event.
There is a hope for a Gold Medal as Bajrang Punia will face Khasanov Sirojiddin in the 65kg freestyle quarter-final .
