Ashutosh defends Sandeep Kumar, NCW issues summons

AAP leader Ashutosh is in controversy for writing a blog where he has defended sacked Delhi minister Sandeep Kumar.

Ashutosh says that the police case aginst him was a violation of his right to freedom of expression.

While hitting out at media he says that Media is not interested in finding out the truth, they are indulged in “vulgarisation” and “doing embedded journalism”.

In a series of tweets Ashutosh expressed his views were he said that ” Atmosphere is created where critical analysis of history not allowed, freedom of expression will be crushed, the voice of dissent suppressed. Registering police cases against me is an infringement on my fundamental right to freedom of expression mandated by Constitution.”

Ashutosh in his blog wrote about the video who were involved in the sexual act. He said, that the in the video it seems like both individuals knew each other and to they had sex in a private space away from the public glare. The question then is that if two consenting adults are physically involved with each other, is it a crime?”

“We have asked him to come on September 8. This is in response to what we feel is a very reprehensible and demeaning blog Ashutosh wrote, where he defended a man accused of rape,” NCW Chairperson Lalitha Kumaramangalam had said.

Kumar was arrested on Saturday night after a woman is seen in a video with him in a “compromising position” complained that she had been drugged and raped a year ago.
