Armaan Kohli sent to judicial custody till June 26 for allegedly assaulting girlfriend

Mumbai, June 13: Bollywood actor Armaan Kohli, who is accused of assaulting his girlfriend, has been sent to judicial custody till June 26.

The Bandra Court on Wednesday also rejected his bail application.

The actor was arrested by Mumbai Police on Tuesday after his girlfriend, Neeru Randhawa, accused him of physically assaulting her.

Based on her statement, Kohli was booked under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and other relevant sections of the IPC.

The actor was absconding since then, the police official said.

According to the complainant, she was in a relationship with 46-year-old Kohli for past three years and they used to stay together in a flat in suburban Santacruz, the official said.

The duo had an argument over some monetary issue at their residence on Sunday evening (of June 3) and during the altercation, he allegedly pushed the woman and she fell from the stairs, according to the complaint.

The accused then pulled her hair and banged her head on the floor, the woman has alleged.

She had added that she suffered head and knee injuries in the incident and was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital here on the same day.

Kohli has appeared in several films like Dushman Zamana, Qahar, Jaani Dushman and made his last big screen appearance in LOC: Kargil in 2003.

He gained popularity after featuring on Salman Khan’s reality TV show Bigg Boss Season 7 in 2013.
