Asking the Bharatiya Janta party about the funding sources of the Saffron party and PM Modi’s election campaign, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath on Sunday questioned wives of BJP leaders whether they are
selling their jewellery to bear the expenses of elections .
“I want to ask Modi Ji, the money spent on his plane rides, on MP assembly election, money that is being spent on ongoing Lok Sabha elections, from where do they get the money? Are the wives of BJP leaders selling their jewellery to bear the expenses of elections,” kamal nathj said.
Earlier Congress president Rahul Gandhi had raked up the issue of BJP’s campaign funds stressing that even a 30-second advertisement on television costs lakhs of rupees.
“Everywhere it is the publicity of Narendra Modi. Where is the money coming from? Thirty seconds on TV or newspaper advertisements require lakhs of rupees. Who is giving the money for it? It is not coming from Modi’s pocket,” Rahul Gandhi had said while addressing a rally ahead of the third phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur Sikri.
Rahul had alleged that the prime minister had looted public money and given it to fugitive businessmen such as Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi, Lalit Modi and Vijay Mallya who in turn were helping the BJP in the elections.
Prime Minister Modi has targeted Kamal Nath over the recent Income Tax raids in Madhya Pradesh and the candidature of his son Nakul Nath from Chhindwara. Speaking at a rally in Rajasthan earlier this week, PM had said that naamdar in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are busy promoting their sons at the cost of people.
