Tikamgarh (Madhya Pradesh), June 26 : Another farmer ended his life on Monday due to debt by hanging himself in Madhya Pradesh’s Tikamgarh, suicide toll rises to 24 till now.
Police investigation is underway. On average of 2-3 days debt-ridden farmers are committing suicide, on other hand the state government is denying the fact that peasants are ending their life because of loans.
The state Government is saying debt is not the reason behind farmers suicide, as there are other personals reasons.
Madhya Pradesh is witnessing agricultural menace since June 6 Mandsuar incident in which Six farmers were killed in police firing.
Farmers were protesting over good price for their produce and loan waiver, later the agitation turned violent which prompted the police to open fire on them.
