Madhya Pradesh, June 9: Yet another farmer Srikrishna Meena allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in Madhya Pradesh’s Raisen’s Sanchi.
It is learnt the farmer was having debt of Rs. 10 lakhs.
The farmers’ agitation in Madhya Pradesh has already turned violent, where five farmers have lost lives during the protests.
Amidst protest, strike and agitation in various parts of the country, suicide cases are also rising.
In Maharashtra, two farmers have committed suicide. On Tuesday, a farmer in Yeola tehsil of Maharashtra’s Nashik district, where the agitation is intense, committed suicide, police said.
On Monday, another farmer, Gorakh Savaliram Kokane, a resident of Waki Budruk in Chandvad tehsil of Nashik district, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his house.
These suicide cases are on rife these days. This is a high time for the government to stop farmers who are ending their lives and also who are struggling hard to survive.
