Another debt-ridden farmer hangs himself in Madhya Pradesh

June 19, Monday: Another debt-ridden farmer ended his life by hanging himself on the branch of a tree in Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.

A farmer named Pyarelal Odh, 65 who belonged to Pipiliya Vyas village had taken a loan of Rs 2.5 lakh from a bank and was also worried due to his daughter’s second marriage.

Till now a total number of 13 farmers have lost their lives due to agricultural crises in Madhya Pradesh, since June 6 violent protest in Mandsaur.

Pyare Lal ‘s son Dev Karan Oud, Sarpanch of the Village Kishan Lal Patidar said he was in tension over repayment of a loan.

The agrarian crises in Madhya Pradesh has been under limelight after five farmers killed  in police firing during agitation for the demand of loan waiver and good price for their produce
