Another accused held in Congolese national murder case

The Delhi Police on Monday apprehended another person on charges of killing Congolese national Masonda Ketada Olivier following a quarrel over hiring of an auto-rickshaw, an officer said.

The accused, identified as Prakash, is a driver, was arrested in the morning from National Capital Region (NCR), said the police officer.

Earlier, Mobin Azad Saifi was held on Saturday, a few hours following the murder, the officer said. Saifi is also previously involved in a criminal case. Another accused Mukesh, who was earlier involved in a cheating case, is still on the chase.

All the three accused live in south Delhi’s Mehrauli and Chhatarpur areas. The accused killed Olivier, 29, near Kishangarh village in south Delhi late on Friday after a scuffle over hiring an auto. Olivier was hit on the head with a stone, leading to his death.

The three accused — Saifi, Mukesh and Prakash — insisted on travelling in the same auto-rickshaw which was being hired by Olivier. The heated argument then turned violent leading to the fatal attack on the victim.
