Anoop George Chaudhari quits as Kejriwal’s lawyer in the defamation case filed by Arun Jaitley

Arvind Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal’s lawyer Anoop George Chaudhari on Friday said that he will no longer be able to appear for him in the defamation case filed by Arun Jaitley.

However, this is not the first when a lawyer has denied appearing for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, before Anoop George, senior advocate Ram Jethmalani was handling the matter.

Ram Jethmalani while quitting the case said that he has quit the case because Mr Kejriwal “lied” when he said he had not instructed him to use the word “crook” while cross-examining Mr Jaitley. A 2 crore fee that Mr Kejriwal owes him can be waived, Mr Jethmalani said today, adding, “it is no problem as I work for free for thousands of people.”

The matter also gained attention after reports came stating that in the defamation case against Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi government is paying fees to  Jethmalani.
