Andhra Pradesh: BJP MP Narasimha Rao’s car hits two women, one dead

Guntur, Aug 25: One woman was dead and another injured after Bharatiya Janata Party MP GVL Narasimha Rao car in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, the police said on Saturday. 

The accident took place on Kolanukonda highway, yesterday when Rao was travelling from Guntur to Vijayawada.

Circle Inspector, Tadepalli PS told media “was travelling from Guntur to Vijayawada, met with accident on Kolanukonda highway, y’day. One woman died on spot. Another woman injured, she is safe. Driver taken into custody”.

The police rushed to the incident spot and admitted injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The Rajya Sabha member was sleeping at the back seat of the vehicle. Later he went to Vijayawada in another car.

Rao was returning from the party meeting when the accident occurred.

“I was sleeping on a back seat when the incident happened. I was at the spot for 45 minutes until police came, injured woman was taken to hospital & a vehicle arrived to take the deceased lady to hospital. I will visit their families to express heartfelt condolences & all support”, he tweeted.
