Amitabh Bachchan decides to leave Twitter as SRK scores 32.9 Mn followers

New Delhi, Feb 1: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has decided to quit Twitter after his fan following from 33 million suddenly fell to 32.9 million and Shah Rukh Khan dethroned him as the most followed Indian actor on Twitter. SRK, currently with 3,29,44,338 followers, has been ranked number one on the microblogging site, while Bachchan is on the number two spot with 3,29,02,353 followers, reported News18.

He wrote: “T 2599 – TWITTER ..!!! you reduced my number of followers .. !!??HAHAHAHAHAHAHA .. !! that’s a joke .. time to get off from you .. thank you for the ride .. .. there are many ‘other’ fish in the sea – and a lot more exciting. (sic)”

Big B, 74, who has given hits like “Sholay”, “Deewar”, “Paa”, “Baghban”, “Bhoothnath”, “Black” and “Piku”, is ahead of stars Salman Khan (30.7 million), Aamir Khan (22.8 million), Priyanka Chopra (21.6 million) and Deepika Padukone (23 million).

The 74-year-old is extremely active on social media platforms and uses the medium to share updates about his personal and professional lives with his fans and well-wishers. He was also one of the first few celebs to start a blog and update it on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, the actor is currently busy shooting Thugs of Hindostan, which also features Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif. The Yash Raj Films production is being helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who directed Katrina and Aamir in Dhoom: 3. It is an adaptation of the 1839 novel Confessions of a Thug.
