Amit Shah meets Christian bishops in Kerala

Shah is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for a Rs 10-crore party headquarters building in the capital city Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.

Kochi, June 2 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah, who arrived here on Friday on a three-day visit to the state, held a meeting with senior bishops from various sections of the Christian churches.

The bishops, whom Shah met at the local Revival Centre, were from the Catholics, Latin, Mar Thoma and the Orthodox churches.

After the meeting, spokesperson of the Syro Malabar Catholic Church A.P. Jimmy said there was nothing political in the meeting.

“This was a casual visit, and him being the chief of the party that rules the country, he was briefed about the various issues that Kerala faces in respect of agriculture and other related areas,” Jimmy told the media.

Earlier in the day, Shah was given a rousing welcome by BJP workers.

Chairing a meeting of the core committee of Kerala unit of the party, Shah asked them to ensure more representation in the assembly and also to open the party’s account in the Lok Sabha polls.

At present, the BJP has just one legislator in the 140-member Kerala Assembly.

Shah is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for a Rs 10-crore party headquarters building in the capital city Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.

He will also meet a select list of invitees drawn from various sections of the society besides party workers and other party functionaries.

BJP won’t win enough seats to form government in Gujarat: BJP leader Kakade

Member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha and Bhartiya Janta Party leader Sanjay Kakde, has claimed that Congress will be the Major party with maximum votes in Gujarat elections.

Talking about Gujarat election the BJP rajyasabha member from Pune said, “BJP would’nt win enough seats to form its government in Gujarat.”

The Bjp leader also stated,”If Congress wins this election, it will be because the BJP did not conduct a good election campaign.”

Kakde has claimed that his team has done a survey of Gujarat election which are the basis of his purport.

Non-bailable warrants against BJP’s Sanjiv Balyan, Sangeet Som in Muzaffarnagar riot case

The local court of Uttar Pradesh has issued a non-bailable warrant against Former Union minister Sanjiv Balyan, Uttar Pradesh minister Suresh Rana and BJP MLAs Sangeet Som and Umesh Malik and others in connection with a 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots case.

The Court has also sought permission from the state to prosecute them under section 153A of IPC for allegedly make hate speeches. According to news agency PTI additional chief judicial magistrate, on Friday issued a non-bailable warrant and asked to all the appear in Court on 19th January 2018.

Almost 60 people died and 40,000 were displaced in Muzaffarnagar communal clashes which took place between August and September 2013
