Amarnath attack was initially planned for July 9th says IGP Munir Khan

In a media briefing on Sunday(6th August), the Jammu Kashmir police revealed some important details about the Amarnath attack in which IGP Kashmir Munir Khan said, Lashkar was involved in Amarnath attack and accused were identified.

According to the police investigation Ismail, a Pak militant of Lashkar along with 2 other Pak militants and a local Kashmiri Lashkar militant carried out the attack.

Accused people who provided them logistics to carry out their plans in the state and work as their guides have been identified. While 2 Lashkar militants were eliminated a few days ago, their involvement in this particular case is still being investigated.

However police informed the attack was initially planned for July 9th, but that day there was no movement of CRPF or yatra vehicle in isolation.

Accused persons arrested and produced before the court, currently under police remand told IGP Kashmir Munir Khan.
We are quite near to them, hopefully, will be neutralizing militants soon…it can be today, tomorrow he added.

The terrorist who attacked Amarnath yatra pilgrims had code word ‘Shaukat’ for yatri vehicle, ‘Bilal’ for CRPF vehicle which clarifies that It was purely a terrorist act said IGP.

Eight people were killed when the militants fired at a bus carrying the pilgrims, returning from their Amarnath yatra.
