Showing resentment over delaying the response of a PIL the Allahabad High Court imposed a fine of Rs. 5000 on Prime Minister’s office and Law Ministry.

According to a report published in Times Of India, a Lucknow bench of the high court passed the order of fine on the PIL of Sunil Kandu. In the PIL the petitioner claimed that every year CAG submits almost five thousand reports but the government takes cognisance of barely 10 reports.

The petitioner in the PIL also questioned about the roles of Central governments in not taking appropriate actions on these reports. On petition’s queries, the high court gave a period of one month to Law ministry and PMO.

However, the assistant Assistant Solicitor General S B Pandey sought more time to file a response on behalf of the PMO and the Law Ministry.
