Chennai, Aug 13: Days after the demise of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president M Karunanidhi, an elevation war has begun between elder son MK Alagiri and DMK working president and younger son MK Stalin for the party leadership.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Alagiri said “My father’s true relatives are all are on my side. All the supporters in Tamil Nadu are on my side & are encouraging me only”.
“Only time will give the answers…that is all I am willing to say now”, he added.
Alagiri was expelled from the party in 2014 and Stalin was appointed as the working president of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
As per the reports, Stalin will be elected as DMK chief at the party general council meeting which is likely to be held in September.
Earlier in a day, Alagiri also visited the memorial of the late Karunanidhi at Marina Beach.
