Akhilesh’s list of 191 seats for UP polls includes Shivpal

Lucknow, Jan 20, 2017: The Samajwadi Party on Friday announced its first list of 191 candidates for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

The ruling party’s first list covers the first three phases, which will be held on seven days beginning February 11.

Akhilesh Yadav’s list corrects an earlier list of candidates that his father Mulayam Singh Yadav had released last month, which left out several of the Chief Minister’s key aides. Those associates like Atul Pradhan and Ajit Singh’s (RLD) stronghold find the place on the new list.

Read out the candidate’s list here:

Senior SP leader and his Uncle Shivpal Yadav will contest from Jaswantnagar, the constituency he represents. His son Aditya has however not been fielded by the party.

Arvind Singh Gop gets the ticket in place of Beni Prasad Verma’s (Mulayam camp) son Rakesh Verma. While Naresh Agrawal’s son Nitin Agrawal gets the ticket from Hardoi and Azam Khan’s son Abdullah Azam gets ticket from Suar (Rampur).

However, today’s list leaves out candidates like Atiq Ahmed, a gangster-turned-politician.
