Akhilesh pays tribute to martyrs on Police Commemoration Day

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Friday attended the Police Commemoration Day function in Lucknow.

Akhilesh paid tribute to the Police officers who sacrificed their lives while serving. While addressing the function in Lucknow, he promised about certain important facilities that will be provided to the Police which would help them in their daily service.

The CM said that police plays an important role in maintaining the social order by being vigilant towards crime.

Akhilesh announced Rs 5 lakh financial assistance for parents of each of the policemen who lost their lives in the past one year.

Akhilesh Yadav paid tributes to the 116 policemen who died while on duty in the past one year.

This day pays tribute to the sacrifices of the policemen who lost their lives while battling Chinese forces in 1959. The bodies of the martyrs were returned by China after three weeks of their death.
