Aircel-Maxis case: Supreme Court allows Karti Chidambaram to travel abroad

New Delhi, Sep 18: The Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed Karti Chidambaram to travel to the United States from September 20- 30. 

A bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud was hearing Chidambaram’s plea for permission to travel outside India.

According to media reports, he will also visit the United Kingdom for the admission of his daughter.

Karti is under the scanner of probe agencies, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with  INX Media and Aircel-Maxis cases.

Earlier in a day, the Patiala House Court adjourned hearing till September 25, on a plea of Enforcement Directorate seeking cancellation of interim relief of Karti over Aircel-Maxis case.
