New Delhi, Sep 18: The Patiala House Court today adjourned hearing till September 25, on a plea of Enforcement Directorate seeking cancellation of interim relief of Karti Chidambaram in connection with Aircel-Maxis case.
Karti is under the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate scanner for his alleged involvement in the matter.
The ED is probing the Aircel-Maxis deal under the PMLA after taking cognisance of a CBI complaint filed in 2011.
The agencies are investigating how Karti Chidambaram allegedly managed to get a clearance from the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) in the Aircel-Maxis deal when his father P Chidambaram was the Union Finance Minister in 2006.
The ED had attached Rs 1.16 crore worth of assets of Karti Chidambaram last September, who is being probed for allegedly receiving kickbacks in lieu of the FIPB clearance.
