Air India flight’s tyre bursts, makes emergency landing at Delhi’s IGI airport

Air India flight AI-472 experienced a tyre burst last evening and made an emergency landing at the Indira Gandhi International airport (IGI). This incident took place during the take off from Udaipur.

All 108 passengers and crew members who were onboard are reported safe. According to the officials, a loud noise was heard just after airplane, from Udaipur’s Maharana Pratap international Airport, took off at 7:20 pm.

The occurrence was observed by CISF’s watch tower unit at Udaipur and the air traffic control (ATC) was informed about the same immediately.

According to the media reports, an inspection team went to the runway and found the pieces of the tyre on the runway. The pilot was alerted and Delhi airport too, for a possible emergency landing.

An air India spokesperson said that “The flight, however, landed safely and all passengers and crew are safe.”
