Ahead of Winter Session, LS Speaker calls all-party meeting today

New Delhi, Nov 14, 2016: Ahead of Winter session of Parliament that is set to begin on Wednesday, Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan has called an all-party meeting today to chalk out ways to ensure peaceful of the House.

The month-long winter session of Parliament will continue till December 16.

Meanwhile, leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday said Congress MPs would raise the demonetisation issue under rules 56 and 193 during the Winter Session.

Deputy leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha Anand Sharma has already given a notice for the suspension of business under rule 267 of the Rajya Sabha for a discussion on the same issue. Meanwhile, leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad has given a notice under rule 267 for discussion on the issue of Kashmir unrest.

On the otherhand, CPI-M general secretary Sitaram Yechury on Sunday, urged to wage a “united fight” against the BJP and its “anti-people policies”.
