Agra’s girl wrote letter to Yogi over molestation

New Delhi, July 10, 2017: Uttar Pradesh, the state which is claiming to ensure the security of women received a letter from a college girl seeking protection from street molesters and also threatened to leave the state if necessary steps are not taken against them.

The letter comes from a city called Agra, where a 19-year-old girl wrote a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath alleging assault by a group of men.

Giving further details, the victim said that she is being teased and tortured by some goons and concerned about her family’s safety she wrote a letter to CM Yogi. The victim sought help from the chief minister and said that she and her family members are being threatened by the accused.

A government source confirmed that the chief minister’s office had received the faxed letter, which names all the six bullies, yesterday.

However, the girl has stopped going to college, she said, the “goons molested me again on July 4” while she was walking to a temple with her father and brother. “They thrashed my father and brother badly, leaving them bleeding.”

Agra city superintendent of police, Anupam Singh, told media the girl had lodged a police complaint on July 4.

“We have registered a FIR against the identified culprits, and a hunt is on to arrest them,” he said.
